We are working hard to increase the range and complexity of our vocabulary. To support this, we are practising spellings weekly. Please find a weekly spelling list inside your contact book for you to practise at home.

This term, our class chose the topic ‘Rhyfel plentyn’ which translates to ‘A Child’s War’. We have focussed on World War Two. At the beginning of the topic, we created questions which have led our learning journey. Our highlights from our topic have been our Blitz artwork, our Morse code messages and our independent, creative homework pieces.

We also thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Brecon’s Regimental Museum; we dressed up as evacuees and soldiers, role played as a 1940s shop keeper, ARP warden and a child during the war. We even got to experience what life was like for children in an Anderson Shelter. We loved singing Christmas Carols in the Anderson Shelter!

Here are some photographs that show how much fun we had on our trip!
